About Us
Mountain Astronomy Physics Science Camp (MAPS) is a branch of Mountain and Sea Adventures (MSA), and is the most adventurous and educational overnight mountain camp program in southern California.
MSA’s goal is for all participants to enjoy an expert- guided encounter in the environment that is innovative and life changing. Within this, our audience is three-fold:
Our goal for school participants is to experience what it is to become a marine or field biologist “in-training” while being immersed in California science standards. During our SCHOOL AWAY CAMPS and FIELD TRIPS, our “hands-on” approach elevates acquisition of the processes of field biology. Students become the “solution makers” as they are empowered to solve current environmental issues. MSA’s classes and activities are strategically developed to bring campers face to face with situations that impart courage to break fears. They become World Changers as their character develops during their time at MSA Camp.
Our goal for INDIVIDUAL DAY and INDIVIDUAL AWAY campers is to combine ecology, sustainability and marine science with lots of fun. The kids enjoy new experiences, make new friends and create great memories that will inform them and influence their life course for years to come. Campers are mentored in several areas of interest to help them reach their destiny.
Our goal for GROUP AND LEADERSHIP RETREAT ATTENDEES is to provide inspiration and awe for the natural world through leading-edge speakers and interaction with our surroundings. Team building activities help create a sense of community and mutual respect. We strive to tailor each experience to the particular needs and desires of the group in order to provide rich memories to last a lifetime.
